Undiminished by time, this 1920's rose-pink dance dress still casts its magical spell. This exceptional Art Deco beauty is fashioned in three different French couture fabrics- sheer silk chiffon, metallic gold lace and lamé ribbon-weave trim. It is then lavishly embellished with shimmering pearl tone large-scale floral beadwork. Prong-set rhinestones add the perfect amount of sparkle. The bodice is unbelievable; an ultra flattering low-cut scoopneck with dramatic cut-out detail. The same cutwork design is repeated down both sides of the skirting. My favorite part is the longer invert pleated front. Extravagant garments from the 1920's remain a perennial favorite, perhaps because no other period combined such opulence with such youthful flair. The playful silhouette embodies the flapper's "party till dawn" attitude while the luxurious textiles whispers "wealth and status." The mark of a truly fashionable garment is that it remains stylish and timeless 90 years later, as does this sumptuous couture piece. The pictures say it all.

This 1920's French couture dress is in excellent wearable condition with no rips or holes. I wouldn't be surprised if this creation was by a famous designer, as it has all the hallmarks of a couture piece from this era. Matching inner slip still attached. Closes with side metal snaps. Only sign of age is slight discoloration around the armhole area. A wearable investment dress that will increase in value.
