Undiminished by time, this 1920's fuchsia-pink flapper dance dress still casts its magical spell. This exceptional French beauty is fashioned in silk chiffon with lavish metallic silver embroidery and beading. I adore the bold art-deco motif worked in. The hand-crafted pattern is really unbelievable; it must have taken weeks to finish. My favorite part is the tiered fringe skirting with draped side peplum swag trimmed with lamé. We needed to add many detail pictures so one can appreciate the masterful achievement. Extravagant garments from the 1920's remain a perennial favorite, perhaps because no other period combined such opulence with such youthful flair. The playful silhouette embodies the flapper's "party till dawn" attitude while the luxurious textiles whispers "wealth and status." The mark of a truly fashionable garment is that it remains stylish and timeless 100 years later, as does this couture piece. The pictures say it all.

This 1920's French flapper dress is in excellent wearable condition with no stains or discoloration. I wouldn't be surprised if this creation was by a famous designer, as it has all the hallmarks of a couture piece from this era. Slips on over the head with no additional closures. Hand-stitching throughout. Only signs of age look to be professional reinforcement under the shoulder straps and a few tiny pin-holes hole which are not noticeable when worn. A rare wearable investment dress that will only increase in value.
