The breathtaking watercolor print used on this 1930's silk rayon gown has a fresh innocence that I find irresistible. The rich chartreuse, magenta and light blue floral work beautifully with the dark navy background. The bodice has elegant short flutter sleeves and a seductive weighted back drape. The sculpted waist falls into an hourglass bias-cut, where it breaks into a back mermaid panel design. The piece work to create the skirting in particular is extraordinary. It is amazing that a dress with this amount of detail and presence can literally feel almost weightless but it does. So romance and rare.
