Breathtaking Harvey Berin designer black silk and chantilly lace party dress dating back to the mid 1950's. Harvey Berin opened his business in 1921, and by the 1940's he was an important name in women's fashion. His designer, Karen Stark, adapted the latest styles from Paris each season. They were best known for their ladylike evening dresses and ensembles. As Karen Stark said, "I like to use beautiful fabrics and unusual trimmings. I design for everyone, but always very feminine women." This particular dress was definitely inspired by a couture Christian Dior creation. The fabrics used are pure genius; black mid-weight silk with pink lining to give a wonderful sheer illusion effect through the French chantilly-lace. The bodice is a seductive petal-sculpt sweetheart boned strapless. I love how you get a totally different look with the gorgeous bow-tie cropped bolero jacket. The flattering hourglass nipped-waist full circle-skirt finishes this garment off with the perfect "new look" silhouette. A timeless look for an modern vixen!
