Lilli Ann was started in San Francisco in 1933 by Adolph Schuman, naming his company for his wife, Lillian. The company became known for their beautiful, elaborately designed suits and coats. This stunning ensemble is fashioned in a rich fully-lined black and white boucle-wool. The fabric itself is a masterpiece- woven loops that seem to have a plaid texture but without being stiff or heavy. The construction is impeccable and has the type of seamed pattern work that one rarely sees today. The jacket has amazing velvet trimming with lean, long cuffed sleeves. I love the hourglass nipped-peplum with back corset-looking detai. The high-waisted cocktail wiggle-skirt finishes the suit with a perfect "femme fatale" vibe!
