1970's Geoffrey Beene Black Wool Belted Hourglass Maxi Long Dress
A chic and timeless garment that takes the "little black dress" concept to a whole new level! Geoffrey Beene made strong impressions with his courteous manner as well as his highly original style. He was a champion of minimalist design. His body-contoured dresses were marvels of cut and proportion. Beene’s view of style was more about function than fad. He also cautioned against getting too concerned with the latest trends. His clothes were structured but never rigid and rely on the craftsmanship of careful detail. This sculpted wool maxi dress is a beautiful example of his genius. I adore the low-cut plunge bodice with buttons running all the way down. The over-sized waist belt totally flatters the figure and the front slit finishes this garment off with a perfect "femme fatale" vibe. This is the type of dress you will reach for over and over. So beautiful and in wonderful condition!
