Lilli Ann was started in San Francisco in 1933 by Adolph Schuman, naming his company for his wife, Lillian. The company became known for their beautiful, elaborately designed suits and coats. This stunning garment is fashioned in a rich fully-lined black french-wool. The fabric itself is a masterpiece- vertical silk velvet stripes, that seems to have an almost 3- dimensional feel, are perfectly placed on the luxurious wool. The construction is impeccable and has the type of seamed pattern work that one rarely sees today. The bodice has an amazing double-breasted hourglass nipped-waist design. The flared, side-pockets, princess skirt finishes the coat with a perfect "femme fatale" vibe.
