An amazing and highly stylized 1950's striped silk evening gown ensemble by Werle of Beverly Hills. Daniel Werle designed clothing for many Hollywood stars including Barbara Stanwyck, Marlo Thomas, Gloria Swanson and, most notably, many of the beautiful dresses worn by Loretta Young on her television show. The silhouette is classic New Look, cut to showcase an hourglass nipped-waist. The strapless boned bodice is elegant and effortless to wear. My favorite part is the bold asymmetric skirting which really catches the eye! The peplum pleatwork flatters the figure and the under skirting is a wonderful way to show depth. You do not easily find this level of workmanship on garments today.
