  • 1920's Oppenheim Collins Couture Metallic-Gold Lace Tiered Flutter Evening Dress

Oppenheim Collins was one of the high-end boutiques operating during the Art Deco era and it said to be the first department store in New York. Undiminished by time, this 1920's metallic-gold threaded lace dance dress still casts its seductive spell. This exceptional Art Deco beauty is fashioned from four different patterned French lamé laces with black silk based matching deadstock underslip. The bodice is unbelievable; an ultra flattering sculpted flutter-sleeve with draped long-tie. Extravagant garments from the 1920's remain a perennial favorite, perhaps because no other period combined such opulence with such youthful flair. The playful tiered skirting embodies the flapper's "party till dawn" attitude while the luxurious textiles whispers "wealth and status." The mark of a truly fashionable garment is that it remains stylish and timeless 90 years later, as does this sumptuous couture piece. The pictures say it all.

    Measurements
    Bust: 34-35 inches
    Hips: 40 inches
    Total Length: 55 inches

This early 1920's Oppenheim Collins Couture dress is in excellent wearable condition. Matching underslip appears to be unworn. Only signs of wear is some minor age tarnish to the metallic lace. A true work of wearable art.
