  • 1930's Black Silk & Sheer Lace Cut Outs Hourglass Bias-Cut Trained Gown

There are lots of lovely 1930's garments still around, but every once in a while I come across one that sets my heart a flutter! This is an extraordinarily beautiful black silk and fine chantilly-lace sculpted full length showstopper. Old Hollywood glamour at it's finest. The bodice has elegant flutter cap-sleeves and a unique asymmetric slash insert with smaller cut-outs throughout. The design is so ahead of it's time! The nipped waist falls into an hourglass bias-cut trained design. The piece work to create this garment with the softest silk is truly extraordinary. I love the two-tone velvet back sash bow which really look sensational when you turn around. Dramatic gowns from the 1930's era remain a perennial favorite, perhaps because no other period combined opulence with such youthful playfulness. The pictures say it all.

    Measurements (varies due to bias-cut)
    Bust: 30-32 inches
    Waist: 24-26 inches
    Hips: up to 35 inches
Total Length: 60 inches (not including 8-inch train)

This gorgeous 1930's gown is in beautiful condition with no rips, discolor or alternations. Presents beautifully. Slips over the head with no additional closures. After close inspection we found some marks to the back velvet sash. Please message for detailed pictures. A rare piece of wearable art that will only go up in value.
