1930's French Couture Beaded Black Silk Flutter Sleeve Open-Back Dress

Undiminished by time, this early 1930's black beaded couture dress still casts its magical spell. This exceptional French beauty is fashioned in the highest quality black silk that has been lavishly embellished with glass micro-beads throughout. I love the gorgeous charcoal gray rose-garden motif beaded on the both the peter-pan collar and pleated organza trimmed flutter sleeves. My favorite detail of this bias-cut garment is the dramatic open back with three beaded deco lines that almost resemble the beginnings of a web. So unique and eye-catching. The exacting perfection of the full skirting is beyond compare. The same stunning hand-stitched garden beadwork is repeated on the skirt and the effect is breathtaking. This type of workmanship must have taken months to complete. We needed to add many detail pictures so one can appreciate the masterful achievement. This early 1930's French couture dress is in excellent wearable condition with no rips, holes or alternations. I wouldn't be surprised if this creation was by a famous designer such as Chanel or Worth, as it has all the hallmarks of a couture piece from this era.
