  • 1974 Pierre Cardin Haute Couture Green Silk One-Shoulder Goddess Gown

    ID: 0706232
    Size: medium
    Condition: Excellent

An ultra chic and highly collectable Pierre Cardin haute couture apple green silk goddess gown dating back to his spring-summer 1974 collection. In 1951 Cardin opened his own couture house and by 1957, he started a ready-to-wear line; a bold move for a French couturier at the time. Cardin is known for his avant-garde style and his unique geometric shapes, often ignoring the female form. This incredibly rare sculptural look is a perfect example of his genius. The construction of this garment is amazing- yards of luxurious double layered heavy weight silk with an impressive draped billow hemline. I love the asymmetric one-shoulder bodice which was very popular during this period. The beaded appliqué adds the perfect amount of sparkle and texture. This dress is vintage fashion on the highest level; a well thought out idea in a stunning color and effortless silhouette. A beautiful example of haute couture history that looks like it just walked off the Paris runway.

    Measurements
    Bust: 35-36 inches
Hips: best up to 40 inches

This Pierre Cardin haute couture gown is in beautiful condition with no rips, holes or alternations. Two hidden side metal-zipper closures. After close inspection we found a few minor spots which are not noticeable when worn. Please message for detailed pictures. This highly coveted designer garment is truly exquisite and an investment piece that will only increase in value.
