  • 1974 Alice Pollock Documented Colorful Wool Knit Bohemian Sweater Dress

An incredibly rare and super stunning colorful knit caftan maxi dress by the famous Alice Pollock British label. Pollock is known for starting Quorum, a London boutique and manufacturing business, in 1964. The following year she was joined in the business by Ossie Clark and Celia Birtwell. Together they designed and made the clothing that filled the shop and attracted the attention of the fashion conscious. In 1969 the business was acquired by Radley, but Pollock continued to design for the label into the 1970's. This documented dress is a wonderful example of her genius. As shown, it was featured on the cover of 'Fabulous 208' which was a British pop music magazine that ran from 1964 to 1980. The pattern itself is magical; rainbow zig-zag stripes in an ultra soft wool knit. The bodice has dramatic wide-sleeves with gathered empire waist. I love the pale-pink collar that matches the wrist trim perfectly. The bohemian caftan full length silhouette is so effortless to wear. It's a timeless garment simply because it exudes an undeniably unique flair, and yet remains incredibly current. The pictures say it all.

    Measurements (varies due to style)
    Bust: 34-40 inches
    Hips: up to 60 inches
    Sleeve Length: 22 inches
    Total Length: 56 inches

This Alice Pollock designer dress is in wonderful condition with no rips, fade or alternations. Garment slips over the head with no additional closures. Only sign of age are a few tiny repairs to the knit which are not noticeable when worn. Please message for detailed pictures. This garment is over 50 years old and is true rarity.
