  • 1940's Paramount Film-Worn Metallic Gold Lamé Full Length Trained Cape

A breathtaking metallic gold lamé custom-made Paramount Pictures full length trained cape dating back to the early 1940's. This gorgeous garment comes with certificate of authenticity so you can be sure this is a true piece of Old Hollywood history. Though I am unsure of which production this gorgeous garment is from, I do know Edith Head was lead designer at the time. Edith Head was an American costume designer who won a record eight Academy Awards for Best Costume Design between 1949 and 1973, making her the most awarded woman in the Academy's History. Head is considered to be one of the greatest and most influential costume designers in film history. The detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail of this cape makes me think the garment was definitely designed for a leading lady. This captivating olive-green silk lining which works so well with the sparkling metallic gold. The silhouette is unbelievable; it's cut to drape around you like melting gold. I love that metallic shimmer which totally channels that Old Hollywood queen aesthetic so popular during this time. We added many pictures so you can see just how special this garment is.

This rare one-of-a-kind Paramount Pictures custom-made full length cape is in excellent condition with no serious rips or holes or alternations. As pictured, the inside has old large metal snaps which probably went to a matching gown to secure the garment in place while filming. All hand-finished. Comes with official certificate of authenticity. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.
