  • 1970 Christian Dior Documented Wool Tweed & Lynx Fur Belted Princess Coat

The House of Dior has been an enduring icon of Haute Couture. When the talented Marc Bohan took over as head designer in 1960, he continued the Dior tradition of elegant design. This gorgeous oatmeal brown and ivory wool tweed documented coat from his 1970 Fall/Winter collection is a perfect example of his talent. The fabric used for this garment is breathtaking; ultra soft fully-lined woven wool tweed in rich earth-tones. I love the unique snakeskin buttons and chic waist belt. The care to piece the luxurious Lynx fur together after carefully selecting matching hues must have taken days. I love the dramatic wide portrait-collar and princess swing silhouette. The mark of a truly fashionable garment is that it remains stylish and timeless years later, as does this sumptuous documented show-stopper.

    Measurements
    Bust: 36-37 inches
Waist: 31 inches (belt used to make smaller)
    Hips: 40 inches
    Sleeve Length: 22 inches
    Total Length: 44 inches

This 1970 Christian Dior designer coat is in excellent condition with no discoloration, stains or holes. It is a beautifully crafted and fully lined in brown silk satin. As pictured, garment was famously featured in Vogue August 1970. Only sign of age is wear to the matching snakeskin belt. Museum quality garment and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.
