  • 1962 Christian Dior Haute Couture Pink Textured Silk Dress & Bow Jacket

Breathtaking museum-quality Christian Dior Haute Couture two piece ensemble dating back to their Fall-Winter 1962 collection. While the House of Dior is still a thriving business today, Dior's untimely death in 1957 left the fashion world without a great dictator of style. When the talented Marc Bohan took over as head designer in 1960, he continued the Dior tradition of elegant design and this exceptional dress set is a wonderful example. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; French shocking pink textured silk of the highest possible grade. The unique three-dimensional floral pattern adds so much depth. The bodice is an elegant, yet flirty, low cut scoop neck with flattering nipped-waist. The a-line, middle vent pleat, skirting skims the hip in such a flattering way. There are even pockets! The matching jacket is a statement piece in it's own right. I love the fitted tailoring and bow closure. A pure work of art and a study in haute couture dressmaking.

Perfectly working Eclair metal-zippers in place. Only sign of wear are a few faint spots to the bottom of the skirt. Please message for detailed pictures. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value. A true rarity.
