  • 1910's Julius Garfinckel Couture Beige Embroidered Lace Blue Silk Sash Dress

    ID: 0513202
    Size: small
    Condition: VGood

Unique mixed-lace dresses from the early 20th century are perennial favorites and this Julius Garfinckel and Co. garment is a showstopper. Garfinckel was a prominent department store based in Washington, D.C. that catered to extremely wealthy clientele. The garment's ethereal silhouette is so modern; the fine fabrics are a treasure trove of needle art. The dress is made up of three different laces which surprisingly work so wonderfully together. I especially adore the blue chenille leave motif embroidery. The 3/4-length sleeve bodice has a gorgeous layered design with dramatic sapphire silk-satin cummerbund. We are excited to add detail pictures so one can appreciate the masterful achievement. A beautiful and angelic piece of wearable fashion history!

    Measurements
    Bust: 34-35 inches
    Waist: 26 inches
    Hips: 38 inches
    Total Length: 55 inches

This Julius Garfinckel and Co. designer couture dress is in excellent wearable condition with no rips, stains or holes. The garment slips over the head with a wide structured waistband and over 20 hand-set metal hooks. This dress is over 100 years old and is truly spectacular.
