  • 1920's Jean Patou Haute Couture Attributed Seafoam Beaded Chiffon Dress

Absolutely gorgeous and extremely rare hand beaded Jean Patou haute couture attributed dress dating back to the mid-1920's. As shown, in my research I found an almost identical dress with the same novelty beaded Asian themed motif. From the start of his career, Patou’s designs exhibited a simple elegance that looked like they should be worn by real women, not just mannequins. This was rare at the time. His aesthetic was a success with private clients and Patou began dressing the chicest ladies in Paris. As fashion lovers, we never tire from antique fabrics; they will always be fresh to modern eyes. I just adore this ethereal seafoam blue-green color silk chiffon. It is then lavishly embellished with rhinestones and sparkling glass-beads in a gorgeous motif. This must have taken weeks to complete by hand. The sleeveless low-cut bodice works so well with the complex tiered skirting. We needed to add many detail pictures so one can appreciate the masterful achievement. The mark of a truly fashionable garment is that it remains stylish and timeless 100 years later, as does this magical dress. The pictures say it all.

    Measurements
    Bust: 34 inches
    Hips: 36 inches
    Total Length: 45 inches

This Jean Patou designer attributed dress is in excellent condition with no notable stains or holes. Only sign of age is one repair by the bodice and some missing beadwork. Please message for detailed pictures. The garment comes with original built-in slip in the same hue. A rare museum-quality investment dress that will only increase in value.
