  • 1930's Emerald Green Leaf Motif Sheer Silk Velvet Bias-Cut Gown & Bolero

A truly breathtaking and ultra glamorous mid 1930's emerald green devore silk velvet bias cut gown from the high-end London department store Debenham & Freebody. This special department store became the first of over 60 nationwide. Finding early examples from this rare label is incredibly hard to do let alone a gorgeous 'Old Hollywood' style showstopper. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; the softest semi-sheer leaf motif devore silk velvet is the prettiest emerald green color. The sleeveless bodice has a stunning low-cut weighted plunge to keep the neckline perfectly in place. The matching cropped flutter-sleeve bolero clips in place and looks sensational with movement. The flattering nipped waist falls into a dramatic full-length hourglass bias-cut. The piece work to create this garment with the softest silk-velvet is extraordinary. It is amazing that a gown with this amount of detail and presence can feel so comfortable but it does! It is impeccably seamed and on the level of modern day couture.
Measurements (varies due to bias-cut design)
    Bust: 34-36 inches
    Waist: 26-28 inches
    Hips: up to 40 inches
    Total Length: 57 inches

This rare 1930's Debenham & Freebody couture gown ensemble is in beautiful wearable condition with no noticeable rips, holes or stains. Slips on with no additional closures. This gorgeous gown is over 90 years old and is truly spectacular.
