  • 1950's Hand-Painted Floral Copper Silk & Ivory Satin Full Gown w/ Shawl

    ID: 0102231
    Size: small
    Condition: VGood

In this gorgeous 1950's hand-painted shimmering copper gown, the detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail are comparable to what you will find in modern couture. This captivating garment is fashioned from sparkling hand-beaded copper silk and luxurious ivory satin. The impressive hand-painted floral motif gives the ensemble so much depth and interest. This workmanship alone must have taken weeks to complete. The fully boned bodice has a complex sculpted knot-ruching design which really catches the eye. I love the matching oversized two-tone shawl which really brings this look to a new level. The belted full skirt, made up of any least eight yards of silk, flows to the ground in a perfect "Old Hollywood" style. A pure work of art and a study in dressmaking technique.

    Measurements
    Bust: 33-34 inches
Waist: 24 inches (2 inch seam allowance)
    Hips: Free Sweep
    Total Length: 57 inches

This 1950's custom couture gown ensemble is in wonderful wearable condition. Perfectly working back metal-zipper and complex interior bodice boning. Signs of age include a few small spots to the gown skirting, light underarm wear and some missing beadwork. Please message for detailed pictures. A stunning mid-century gown that you will treasure for years to come.
