Gorgeous and extremely rare chiffon dress tunic by the famous Alice Pollock British label. Pollock is known for starting Quorum, a London boutique and manufacturing business, in 1964. The following year she was joined in the business by Ossie Clark and Celia Birtwell. Together they designed and made the clothing that filled the shop and attracted the attention of the fashion conscious. This unique garment, dating back to the mid 1970's, is a wonderful example of her genius. The print is a wonderful large-scale colorful orientalist floral on a semi-sheer black chiffon. The bodice has a seductive high-neck button trimmed, large cut-out plunge with dramatic billow sleeves. Bodice has a draped loose neckline and wide kimono sleeves. I love the avant-garde asymmetric hem; you can wear a slip under for a mini dress look or pair with your favorite pants. It is impeccably designed and on the level of modern day couture.
