In this gorgeous French mid-century gown, the detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail are comparable to what you will find in modern day haute couture. From the skillful interior boning to the complex techniques, I wouldn't be surprised to learn this is a Jacque Fath or Maggy Rouff creation. This captivating garment is fashioned from mid-weight silk satin in the the prettiest ivory creme color. The bodice is an alluring low cut sweetheart corset strapless. The unique ruched draping and sparkling rhinestone pearl adornments give the gown so much depth. The skirting is constructed with a back over-sized fishtail bow design typical of the time period and insanely hard to do. This rare treasure accentuates the bust, nips in at the waist and skims the hip in hourglass perfection. A pure work of art and a study in mid-century dressmaking.
