In this gorgeous early 1950's 'Old Hollywood' seductively sculpted gown, the detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail are comparable to what you will find in modern couture. This captivating stage dress totally reminds me of the orange hourglass dress Marilyn Monroe wears in the 1953 film 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes'. The garment is fashioned from vibrant orange semi-sheer chiffon that has been hand ruched to give a sensational sculpted look. The sparkling beaded sequin floral appliqués gives the gown so much depth and interest. This workmanship alone must have taken days to finish. The sleeveless bodice has a fitted nipped-waist with dramatic back train cascading down one shoulder. The alluring side-slit draped wiggle skirting is so figure flattering on the body. A pure work of art and a study in dressmaking technique. Breathtaking and so glamorous!
