Undiminished by time, this 1920's royal-blue and gold dance dress still casts its seductive spell. This exceptional Art Deco beauty is fashioned in three different French couture fabrics- sheer silk chiffon, metallic gold lace and lamé based matching underslip. It is then lavishly embellished with shimmering gold tone deco beadwork and micro-sequins. The bodice is unbelievable; an ultra flattering low-cut sleeveless plunge with dramatic velvet floral applique. Extravagant garments from the 1920's remain a perennial favorite, perhaps because no other period combined such opulence with such youthful flair. The playful tiered scallop skirting embodies the flapper's "party till dawn" attitude while the luxurious textiles whispers "wealth and status." The mark of a truly fashionable garment is that it remains stylish and timeless 90 years later, as does this sumptuous couture piece. The pictures say it all.

This 1920's French flapper dress is in excellent wearable condition with no rips or holes. I wouldn't be surprised if this creation was by a famous designer, as it has all the hallmarks of a couture piece from this era. Slips on over the head with no additional closures. Only noticeable sign of wear is discoloration from the beads, creating almost a dye-tie effect. Please message for more detailed pictures. A wearable investment dress that will increase in value.
