Undiminished by time, this 1920's French sapphire-blue and black flapper dance dress still casts its seductive spell. This exceptional Art Deco beauty is fashioned from sheer illusion cotton-net with sparkling glass beadwork throughout. The silhouette is unbelievable; an ultra flattering sculpted bias-cut sleeveless tiered ruffle shift. Extravagant garments from the 1920's remain a perennial favorite, perhaps because no other period combined such opulence with such youthful flair. The raised hemline with long draping back trains embodies the flapper's "party till dawn" attitude while the luxurious handwork whispers "wealth and status." The mark of a truly fashionable garment is that it remains stylish and timeless 90 years later, as does this sumptuous couture piece. The pictures say it all.

This antique French flapper dress is in excellent wearable condition with no stains or discoloration. Gorgeous hand-finishing throughout. Only signs of age is some minor missing beadwork and older repair work to the right bodice. Please message for any additional images. I wouldn't be surprised if this creation was by a famous French designer, as it has all the hallmarks of a couture piece from this era. An investment dress that will increase in value.
