A stunning 1930's shimmering ivory creme silk-satin gown from the "Old Hollywood" era of glamour. The bodice is a seductive low-cut scalloped plunge with metallic silver straps that tie in back. I love the sparkling paisley-motif rhinestones and beading which really gives the dress so much depth and texture! Hand-stitched appliques in the matching motif have been applied to the base fabric and the effect is breathtaking. The waist is nipped with matching belt. The skirt is added in pointed inset seamed pieces typical of the time period and insanely hard to do on bias-cut fabric. This figure flattering garment accentuates the bust, skims the hip and flares out below the knee in a flounce design. It is impeccably seamed and on the level of modern day couture. Here is a dress with attitude and elegant.
(varies a bit due to bias-cut and back tie)
Bust: 32-36 inches
Waist: 24-27 inches
Hips: up to 37 inches
Total Length: 58 inches
This 1930's antique couture gown is in very good wearable condition with no rips or holes. Perfectly working side metal-snaps. Only sign of wear are a few spots to the lower part of the skirting. Please message for detailed pictures. The shoulder straps do not look original but they work flawlessly. This rare beauty is over 90 years old and is truly spectacular.
