There are lots of lovely 1930's garments still around, but every once in a while I come across one that sets my heart a flutter! This is an extraordinarily beautiful "Original Design" labeled luxurious black silk-velvet and fine chantilly-lace sculpted full length showstopper. velvet bias-cut gown. Old Hollywood glamour at it's finest. The bodice has a stunning bold stripe sheer illusion with original pink built-in camisole. I love those dramatic puff sleeves which really look sensational from all angles. The nipped waist falls into an hourglass bias-cut. The piece work to create this garment with the softest silk-velvet is extraordinary. Dramatic garments from the 1930's era remain a perennial favorite, perhaps because no other period combined such opulence with such youthful elegance. The pictures say it all.
