The breathtaking large-scale poppies floral garden print used on this 1930's semi-sheer silk chiffon gown has a fresh innocence that I find irresistible. The bodice has an elegant front ruffle and voluminous bow-trimmed sleeves. The nipped waist falls into an hourglass bias-cut, where it breaks into sculpted panels. The piece work to create the skirting in particular is extraordinary. It is amazing that a dress with this amount of detail and presence can literally feel almost weightless but it does. So romance and rare.
