A gorgeous and ultra flattering early 1940's full length sundress by the famous Mary Muffet label. Mary Muffet was a St. Louis company which flourished when this city was the manufacturing capital, second only to New York City. The garments made at Mary Muffet were fashionable ready-to-wear clothing providing a thin and youthful look. They even marked the registration of their original designs with the Fashion Originators Guild of America. This captivating early creation is a wonderful example of the brand's genius. I love the red and white striped seersucker cotton fabric which is fantastic for the summertime. The off-shoulder bodice has adorable white ric rac trimming and a flirty double ruffle. The waist is nipped with a lean long torso. My favorite detail is on the backside which features a center mock button-down that flows into a tiered ruffle bottom. So charming! This figure flattering garment accentuates the bust, skims the hips and flows beautifully when worn.
