An ethereal early 1990's Bernard Perris Paris Couture ivory lace and silk gown that retailed for over $5,000. At age 16, Perris ventured to Paris, where he eventually was hired as a couture assistant for Guy Laroche. He then went on to design debutante and wedding dresses under the Jacques Heim and Paul Bon labels, where he learned technique. After a short stay at Dior, Perris opened his own house. Bernard felt secure in exploring creative concepts that were outside of his familiar territory. He became very popular in America, appealing as he did to the big-spending, flashy customer who wanted to be seen in his bold, high-quality clothing. This breathtaking dress is everything you would want in a Bernard Perris designer creation. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; ivory deco-floral motif lace and semi-sheer silk of the highest quality. The high-neck low back hourglass bodice works so well with the lean, long sleeves. The full mermaid style skirting is so figure flattering. It's rare to find vintage designer gowns unworn with original tags and this is a serious show-stopper. The pictures say it all.
