Seductive 2005 ruby-red layered silk Carolina Herrera gown that looks like it steps right out of the 1930's! There are few fashion designers with a better reputation than Carolina Herrera. She may not be the best known designer in the world but this is mainly because she tended to stick to the high-end couture market. The socialites who knew her became some of her first devoted customers and women like cosmetics tycoon Estee Lauder and former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis became close clients. This beautiful bias-cut gown, which originally retailed for $3690, is a wonderful example of her genius. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; skillfully pleated layered silk crepe with elegant ruffle detail. The bodice is an alluring low-cut plunge with gorgeous built-it sculpted elements. I love the dramatic billow-sleeve. This figure flattering garment accentuates the bust, skims the hip and flares out below the knee with a slight back train. Here is a gown with attitude and elegant!
