A simply gorgeous Christian Dior London demi-couture numbered silk chiffon gown ensemble dating back to 1972. Christian Dior designed under his own name for only a decade, but his influence is everlasting. When the talented Marc Bohan took over as head designer in 1960, he continued the Dior tradition of elegant design and this look is a wonderful example. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; vibrant red-orange semi sheer lined silk-chiffon. The bodice has chic lean, long sleeves and dramatic pleated cape. The optional cape can actually be worn a number of different ways which we have shown. What an innovative design! I love that the same pleated technique is mirrored with the gown hemline. The yards and yard of gathered pleats add so much depth and texture. This gown has that perfect effortless vibe every fashionista looks for.
