Breathtaking Christian Lacroix documented floral silk-brocade gown from his 1999 runway collection. In 1987 Christian Lacroix opened his own couture house. With his background in historical costume and clothing, Lacroix soon made headlines with his opulent, colorful fantasy creations. He favors the hot colors of the Mediterranean region, a hodgepodge of patterns and experimental fabrics- sometimes handwoven in local workshops. This gorgeous evening gown is a perfect example of his genius. The fabric is an unbelievable fully-lined, large scale colorful floral print silk-brocade. The strapless corset nipped waist bodice is super seductive and totally channels "Old Hollywood" glamour. I love the velvet embellished tiers flowing down the high to low Victorian style bustle skirt. As Lacroix once said, "For me, elegance is not to pass unnoticed but to get to the very soul of what one is." Here is a gown with attitude and elegance.
