A truly rare couture evening gown by Italian designer Gigliola Curiel from his 1966 collection. This stunning tri-color column dress is a scarce example of Curiel's impressive work, which is usually seen only in museums. Amazingly, this garment was never worn and still has its original Bergdorf Goodman custom order tags still attached. This showstopper is fashioned from silky heavyweight black charmeuse with long inset godet panels of sky-blue and lavender. I adore the high round neckline and elongated vertical diamond shaped godet inserts of blue on the bodice. She finishes off this masterpiece with an hourglass belted nipped-waist and full pleated long skirt complete with hidden pockets.
Total Length:58 inches (4-inch hem allowance)
This vintage Gigliola Curiel Couture designer gown is in excellent condition with no rips, stains or holes. The inside is fully-lined with black organdy. It closes with a hand-set metal zipper on the side and hook/eyes on the top of the left shoulder. Original deadstock price tags still attached. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.
