An absolutely gorgeous Halston couture wine red silk three-piece ensemble dating back to his fall-winter 1979 collection. As shown, the same set in mustard is archived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Halston revolutionized the way women dress and is one of the few designers, alongside Claire McCardell and Norman Norell, to define what is American fashion. Throughout most of the seventies he epitomized the glamour, as well as the decadence of the era, becoming a central figure in the nightlife scene of New York's Studio 54. He was known for his soft body-conscious clothing with beautiful fluidity. This set is just astonishing when worn. The whole look is fashioned in the highest quality duel-layered silk satin so it feels like heaven against the skin. The blouse is cut in a classic cap sleeve t-shirt style but tapered in at the waist for an hourglass shape. The matching cigarette pants are so flattering with their elasticized waist and slim fit. The long sash, which can be worn a number of ways, finishes this ensemble off perfectly. A timeless outfit that is ultra chic for any modern event. We added many pictures so you can appreciate this masterful achievement.
