A stunning Herbert Sondheim cocktail dress dating back to 1948. The original editorial picture is an Enka Rayon ad, featuring the Herbert Sondheim garment, a "scimitar-slim dress for after-dark." This beauty is fashioned in a luxurious midnight-blue silky satin which has purple hues when hit by light. The bodice has gorgeous draped kimono-style short sleeves and the prettiest duel-loop center detail. The belted nipped-waist skirting seems to be cut on the bias and the effect is incredibly flattering to the figure. This is the dress you will reach for anytime you want to look and feel like a starlet. You do not easily find this level of workmanship on garments today.
