Unique evening slip dresses from the 1930's era are perennial favorites and this Julius Garfinckel and Co. couture garment is a showstopper. Garfinckel was a prominent department store based in Washington, D.C. that catered to extremely wealthy clientele. The garment's ethereal silhouette is so modern; the fine fabric is a treasure trove of needle art. Definitely Old Hollywood glamour at it's finest. The bodice has a seductive thin-strap low cut sculpted plunge with deco starburst adornment. I love that sparking rhinestone studded workmanship which really gives this garment so much depth and texture. Looks so magical on that stunning pale yellow double layered silk. This figure flattering garment, with accented belt, accentuates the bust and skims the hip with slight pleating. It is impeccably seamed and on the level of modern day couture.
