An exceptionally beautiful and incredibly rare Jeanne Lanvin Castillo couture metallic accented ivory white gown ensemble dating back to the mid 1950's. Castillo was invited by Jeanne Lanvin's daughter to design for her mother's firm in Paris, with hopes of relaunching the firm's name. Jeanne Lanvin, the founder of the house, had died in 1946 and the salon needed someone to maintain it's traditions. From 1950 to 1962 the House of Lanvin-Castillo was a huge success; known for elegant clothes and flattering silhouettes.
This captivating ensemble is fashioned in the highest quality mid-weight ivory linen with the most beautiful metallic embroidered peach block color trimming. The bodice has an alluring front plunge which flows into a nipped hourglass. I adore the matching wide banded high-waist full length swing skirt which is mid century glamour at its finest. We showed the skirt with and without a petticoat so you can see both styles. This ensemble would make such a stunning bridal moment! Breathtaking and totally timeless.
