Gorgeous and extremely rare-to-find 1954 documented Lilli-Ann cocktail dress. Lilli Ann was started in San Francisco in 1933 by Adolph Schuman, naming his company for his wife, Lillian. The company became known for their beautiful, elaborately designed suits and coats. This stunning cocktail is fashioned in the prettiest olive-green silk . The fabric itself is a masterpiece- vertical woven silk that seems to have an almost metallic feel and texture but without being stiff or heavy. The construction is impeccable and has the type of seamed pattern work that one rarely sees today. The bodice has a seductive shelf-bust halter design. I love the hourglass nipped-waist side pocket design with tons of sparkling prong-set rhinestones and embroidery. An iconic piece of wearable fashion history.
