During the 1960's and 1970's, Pauline Trigère's name was part of the glamorous excess in Hollywood fashion. Her exquisite tailoring and feminine fitting clothing were highly desired by the wealthy and famous. She could create garments which fit like a glove; cut in an extremely flattering style. Trigère designs commanded some of the highest prices often because they were made with very expensive materials. This stunning tropical floral print resort dress is a perfect example of her genius. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; watercolor "light as a feather" double layered silk-chiffon in one of the prettiest color combinations I've ever seen! The bodice is an elegant batwing sleeve design with three covered buttons gracing each shoulder. I adore the satin nipped-waist detail. The tea-length flowing skirt makes this extraordinary garment so effortlessly easy to wear. A work of wearable art with the imaginativeness so celebrated in the 1970's.
