Rappi was a talented Viennese-born woman named Syd Rappaport who made a name for herself with glamorous formal wear which was much beloved by debutantes with a particular eye for unique style. From the skillful silhouette to the complex fabric choices, you can definitely see the Christian Dior 'New Look' inspiration. I adore the sweetheart illusion bodice with lean, long velvet trimmed sleeves and adorable back bow. So glamorous and modest at the same time. The nipped-waist flows into a voluminous full circle-skirt. This rare garment is timeless, extremely well-made and unforgettable.
