In this gorgeous 1950's Sydonia custom-made formal gown, the detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail are comparable to what you will find in modern Haute-Couture. Sydonia Couture, whose boutique catered to the richest socialites in America, would travel to Europe in order to buy fabrics and take the pulse of fashion. She designed her own collections and modified each garment to assure her clients that their dresses would be one‐of‐a‐kind. This captivating gown is fashioned from silk-organza and chantilly-lace in a stunning black on pale yellow color combination. The bodice is an alluring low-cut plunge boned strapless with hand-stitched rose applique. I love the matching detachable shawl which can be used for a more modest look. The silhouette is unbelievable; a flattering hourglass nipped-waist met by voluminous ballroom skirting. Just look at the gorgeous hemline cut-work design! I love the complex styling which totally channels the great work of Christian Dior. I totally imagine this show-stopper gliding down the red carpet.
